Frequently Asked Questions

DO I REQUIRE A BOOKING TO ACCESS ST ANDREWS LAKES?

During the busy summer months, you will be required to have a booking to enter St Andrews Lakes. If in doubt, please do call the office before leaving home.

HOW DO I BOOK?
Book online by clicking the 'Book Now' button.

CAN WE MAKE A PRIVATE BOOKING?
Yes you can. Private bookings can be made to have either of the Aqua Parks to yourselves.  Please call the office 01634 926 204 for information or to book.

IS THE AQUA PARK SUITABLE FOR BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN?
We have the two aqua parks; The main lake aqua park is great fun for all ages over 6yrs old and over 122cm in height. Our kids aqua park is designed for the little ones ages 2-6 years old and under 122cm in height.

Our staff and Lifeguards strictly control behaviour from the more 'boisterous' teenagers to ensure safety for all.

CAN MY CHILD GO ON THE AQUA PARK AND I STAY ON THE BEACH?

Kids Aqua Park Rule - Please stay in the vicinity of the kids aqua park to supervise your child. One adult may accompany each child on the kids aqua park.

Main Aqua Park Rule - Children aged 6-9yrs old can only take part in an aqua park session if accompanied by an adult. The adult ratio must be no more than 3 children to 1 adult supervising.
Children aged 10-17 may take part in an aqua park session unaccompanied by an adult, ONLY if the supervising adult remains shoreside throughout the session.

HOW LONG DO WE GET ON THE AQUA PARK?

Kids Aqua Park - Sessions are 40 minutes in duration

Main Aqua Park - Each session is 1hr in duration, this allows for approximately 10mins for getting on and off the aqua park. So you actually get around 50mins fun time!

HOW EARLY DO WE ARRIVE?
You MUST check in 45mins prior to your booked session time. If you are late, we will refuse entry on the grounds of safety. No refund or reschedule will be permitted.

WHAT IS THE YOUNGEST PERSON ALLOWED?
Kids Aqua Park - 2 years old.

Main Aqua Park - No one under the age of 6yrs is allowed.

IS THERE A HEIGHT LIMIT? (this will be measured onsite)
Kids Aqua Park - The maximum height limit is 4'0" (122cm).

Main Aqua Park - The minimum height is 4'0" (122cm).

ARE THE AQUA PARKS SUITABLE IF I'M PREGNANT?
Absolutely not as the aqua park experience is all about slipping, sliding and bouncing!

WHAT IF I HAVE A BAD NECK OR BACK?
Only you know how you will be affected. It is at your own discretion, but we'd advise you to think seriously about participating or not.

DO I NEED TO BE FIT?
You don't need to be athletic, however you must be able to haul yourself back onto the Aqua Park from the water.

I HAVE ASTHMA, CAN I GO ON THE AQUA PARK?
Everybody suffers and controls their asthma differently. The aqua park sessions can be physically demanding; combine that with the effects of cold water, the activity can easily remove your breath......think carefully before taking part.

DO I NEED TO BE A GOOD SWIMMER?
Kids Aqua Park - The aqua park contains no more than 11cm of water designed for splashing in only.

Main Aqua Park - Not really, as you'll float wearing one of our life vests, so just a confident doggy paddle will do! The distance from the beach to the aqua park is approximately 20metres.
We do insist that you are confident in the water.

CAN I WEAR GLASSES OR GOGGLES ON THE AQUA PARK?
Glasses can get broken resulting in the frame causing injury. So glasses are not permitted, however swim googles are allowed.

Yes we do have a covered locker area. Combination padlocks are for sale at only £3.50 or bring your own padlock to lock your locker.

CAN I WEAR SHOES?
Not on the aqua park, however we recommend you wear footwear across our bark lake side surfaces to avoid splinters and aqua park socks on the park itself (can be purchased on site).

However, no dogs are permitted on the beach and most certainly not on the Aqua Park!
