Kids love their sailing?
Join our youth sailing club to sail on a regular basis.
The Medway Pirates Sailing Club is our route for any budding sailor to join upon completion of the RYA Stage 1 & Stage 2 courses. Any child between the age of 8-17yrs old may join, you don't even need to own any equipment.
When?
The club sails every Sunday morning 9:00am - 1000a; even if the weather is foul, we still meet and cover shore based elements.
Session content
Club sessions are about having fun as well as learning. All sailing sessions are supervised with on-the-water safety cover and RYA instructors on hand to offer any light hearted coaching.
Every child learns and participates in a different way to the next. As a child builds on their basic sailing skill sets, the instructors will work with them to develop racing skills; You never know, they might even want to become part of the Medway Pirates Sailing race squad!
Objectives
Medway Pirates Sailing Club objectives is to make sailing accessible to children and young people. To provide support and opportunities for everyone from whatever background, participating and progressing in the world of watersports.
Equipment
If you don't have your own equipment; Wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets and even the sailing dinghy are available to use for each session.
If you do have your own sailing dinghy and equipment, you are more than welcome to bring it along and join in the fun.
How to join
Your child must be a member to take part in club sessions. Feel free to chat with us if your child is on a course or download the PDF application form that is just below.
Cost
Cost is kept as low as possible, just enough to cover the basics of maintaining equipment and reinvesting in wetsuits buoyancy aids and qualified RYA sailing instructors.
Annual membership: £60 per family (siblings).
Each session attended: £7.50 per child.
